shareAs previously reported, after insisting that former President Donald Trump’s effort to “build the wall” was “divorced from reality” and that not “another foot of wall” would be constructed by his administration, Biden authorized the completion of porous sections of the wall near Yuma, Arizona where four gaps comprise one of the busiest crossings of illegal immigrants from Mexico.
Doocy questioned Jean-Pierre Friday on Biden’s decision to build the wall and she immediately tried to shut him down. “So, we are not — we’re not finishing the wall. We are cleaning up the mess the prior administration left behind in their — in their failed attempt to build a wall.”
Of course, the press secretary disregarded that Trump’s attempts were stymied by Democratic obstruction in Congress and quibbled over $8 billion in funds that the previous president had allocated for American border security while the current administration has authorized more than seven times that amount for the security of Ukraine, but Doocy took a different tact and challenged the White House on Biden’s past statements.
