I'm still not sold, I wont really buy this until I actually see it on the show.
I can buy a TBD if it's done right (it does involve suspension of disbelief, but so did season 6) he just better be the real Almeida, he better not come back changed or as a villian.

But if we are getting Tony back in believable circumstances that don't alter his character, then YAY! 24 will have gotten interesting again.

Worst day ever. If they want to turn 24 into a soap opera, this is the way to do it. I adore Tony and Carlos, but this really is a bad, BAD idea. They're just going to destroy Tony's character and everything they made him before. This show has been going downhill for the last three years, and they're deluding themselves if they think bringing back a character they swore they'd never bring back is a good idea. It's cheap and just shows they have no more original ideas.

No doubt in my mind, Tony will be back as a bad guy. Just think about it, guilt and rage from the death of his wife, a government that's abandonded him, plus two years being tortured by terrorists/abducted by aliens/insert other ridiculous scenario here...wouldn't you turn traitor?

On the up side, he will be Jack's deadliest enemy to date. On the down side, he *definitely* (silent clock or no silent clock!) will be dead by the end of Season 7.

Bittersweet.

- Tony's uncertain destiny at the ending of Day 5, made it possible for us to make him come back, tells chief-producer Howard Gordon, and points towards, that the observant viewer should have noticed, that there were no silent clock, ticking, as »24« normally marks a death.

Fox also announce, that Almeida will appear in the beginning of the seventh season, where CTU is disbanded and the story moves from Los Angeles to the capital Washington.

It's very much true indeed :)
