The poorest Americans will pay only 10%, but the richest Americans will pay close to 40%.
That seems pretty fair to me, not sure why there is a controversy about taxes, wealthier Americans are already paying more and have been for the past 50+ years.
As someone who prepares taxes in an economically depressed area let me assure you: almost half of Americans pay no federal income tax, not just the poorest. Many even qualify to receive money from the US Government through the Earned Income Credit. I get to hear them tell me how they plan to spend that money on frivolous things. The American people are taxed plenty. The nonsensical spending has to stop at some point!
