Apatow heading a downward spiral?

It seems like during the last couple of years, nearly all of Apatow's movies (with the exception of Bridemaids) have been on a decline in quality and popularity. Many of the films that he has had some sort of involvement in seems to not be matching the success and savory of its predecessors (ex: Superbad, 40-Year-Old Virgin, etc).
Is it just me noticing this?

Yes, go away Crapatow. Let someone else step in that knows how to do more then make dick and drugs jokes.

Crapatow.. Yeah that's real original.

I really enjoyed " This Is 40 " so I personally don't think his movies are going in a downward spiral. That's my opinion though.

The movies he's specifically directed have progressively gotten worse.

The problem is that no one is editing his work anymore. He's just allowed to go on and on with a scene just because he thinks it's a good idea. It happens to most writers who get too famous too quickly. The Harry Potter books are a good example of this. With Apatow, the scripts never get revised like they should so a lot of excess is left in, which is entirely unnecessary. Funny People and This is 40 are prime examples of this. The great thing about his earlier work was that he had people to tell him "no" on certain issues, but now he's the big guy in charge and it just hurts his work. The same thing happened to George Lucas.
