Do you think Wes Anderson needs to change it up?

He has such an individual stylistic voice which screams Wes Anderson form the first shot. There's no denying he's an Auteur(feel free to challenge me on that) but do you think it's time for him to completely switch it up - maybe do another genre entirely? Or do you think he couldn't possibly, as that IS who he is.

im very interested to hear what you all have to say on this topic.

I admit it would be interesting to see what he could create if he stepped outside himself... Though the argument might be "why fix something that's not broken". His films almost feel like a series of stories as opposed to individual films. My two ultimate favorites are Rushmore & Bottle Rocket. Unquestionably charming & sweet. Grand Budapest Hotel is getting some seriously great reviews and praise. Can't wait 2C it... ?

Wes should adapt the H.H. Holmes novel 'The Devil in the White City'.

That be a nice change of pace, but yet oddly still in his wheelhouse. I'd love to see what he does with Holmes' murder castle since he is so talented in making sets feel like characters all their own.

NO.... HE makes incredible engulfing films, unique in a sea of Hollywood bores! I'll always go see his films as I know I will like them. Why fix something that is not broken?

YES!!!!!!

If he changes genre I'm afraid it will scream sellout. His filmography is amazing and he should only change if he feels the need to, not because of pressure from a moronic public that flocks to the theaters to see such trash as Transformers and the token horror film that comes out bi monthly. Keep doing what you're doing Wes

reply

That same moronic public is the reason why he can get funding for his movies, you know. Steven Rales doesn't just shell out $20million so he can have a new DVD in his collection.

He's more of a mild hero, you know, like the kind of sauce you get at Japanese restaurants

reply

Just because what you said is true, doesn't make it right. I know his films don't dominate the box office, but he makes a profit.

reply

Well, "directorman", how many films have you directed? What's that you say? ZERO? I'm shocked, no, really I am.

Guess what: Wes Anderson doesn't need you, the film-going world doesn't need you, and I sure as hell don't need you.
