So When was she born?
George gave her date of birth as 1902 but new evidence now indicates she was actually older than him.

shareHer bio states July 26, 1895. Do you have reason to disbelieve this?
shareGracie Allen was always secretive about her age. In her biography, GRACIE, George Burns refers to her as a young kid. On her death certificate, George Burns gave her birth date as 1902. I know that has been disproven. The 1895 date from the fact that she is in 1900 census as 5 years old. That makes her older than him. Just curious if anything new has come up.
shareThat's very interesting. I didn't know anything about that. I loved watching them, and always found it touching how George talked about her, even long after her death. makes sense, especially in that era, that they would try to portray her as being younger than she really was.
shareHer age, relative to George’s, matters much less to me than the fact that she was much more comically talented than he, and that he admitted it in interviews (cf. The Playboy Interview with George Burns).
shareHer 'official' birth year was 1895, but her crypt stone says 1902-1964.

Yeah...good point,, George Burns himself was born in 1896
shareIt's funny seeing the interest in this. One of my hobbies is genealogy so I got hooked on this way back when, as seen by my OP. Sometimes I'd find myself straying and my wife would ask: Are you doing our family tree or Gracie Allen's?
shareI am glad to see that we still remember her. For how many women comics did she blaze a path?
“Say ‘goodnight,’ Gracie.”
“Goodnight.”
