I'm sorry Amy they keep doing this to you and your characters. Dead to become some shell or the voice. POI is the show that is willing to experiment with things. And they chose to use this dumb cliché. The worst thing is that on POI they made death Root's main purpose.

What makes it even worse is that throughout the show Root had so little screen time and almost nothing to do even in season 5 nothing really changed and then she died.

I completely agree. They didn't know how to treat the character or the actress 

What are you talking about? From the backend of season 3 to present, the show pushed Jim to the background and it became the Root show.
