shareyou are correct
shareWhich is why they're all hypocrites. Typical lefty circlejerk that loves to virtue signal about how morally superior they are but never likes to practice what they preach. Like how they defended Polanski. Let's all just throw him under the bus when it suits us but remain hush hush until then. No one ever wanting to take the first step. What an insipid cesspool of fake degenerate cowards.
shareaGREED, Beginning with fucking worthless sack of shit Obama that sends his OWN DAUGHTER to this guy, but it was ok I guess since his daughter is monstrous looking.

Yes. It's ridiculous for anyone (as is seen further above in this thread) to try to wring some liberal/conservative controvery out of it all.
There are Republicans in Hollywood....if "everyone" knew, why wasn't Charlston Heston the whistleblower? Or Patricia Heaton?
.
Good point
Well taken

I think the issue is how Hollywood as a whole presents itself, as a group its liberal. Their are certainly conservatives and if any of them knew and said nothing they are at fault too, but you cant pretend they as a group don't often take liberal views and attempt to push them onto others regardless of their validity. So to have something that is so hypocritical to happen to one of their elite people who also was a top donor to democrats including H. Clinton is not going to get a pass from people when many of these Hollywood people go after others the same way.
Personally I think people should be judged individually, but that's not the way some people want it.
Oh bull. I'm sure everyone had heard rumors, hell, even I heard rumors way out here in flyover country! But people who just heard the rumors had no *proof*, nothing they could go to the media or the police with. Think about it. If you thought someone you know was engaging in misconduct, would you call your local TV station to alert the media? If you thought the same about the CEO of a big company was doing the same, would you put the rumors on your social media where the whole world and his lawyers could see it?
Anyone who tries to frame this as a "liberal hypocracy" issue doesn't understand libel laws.
It took one single woman to tape his misconduct and she opened up a floodgate of victims of sexual abuse from Harvey Weinstein. All it took was one person to take the first step. Every single victim of his, could have been the one to take that first step, but due to their cowardice, and their fear of having their careers ruined, they didn't. They just swept it under the rug and let it continue to for decades. I understand libel laws just fine. And I know that when you have 30 victims of sexual assault from Weinstein, those libel laws go out the window.
Sorry, but liberal hypocrisy is exactly what this is. And it doesn't just end with sexual assault. George Clooney and JK Rowling virtue signal about how we need to be taking in more refugees for the sake of "help" and any concerns people have over them are just branded as racist bigots. Yet they own several mansions and villas with who knows how many rooms that are empty with not a single soul occupying them. They live in his gated communities that have 24 hour surveillance but somehow want to tell us where our morals should lie?
Rose Mcgowan has been at the forefront of this Harvey case from the beginning claiming her victimhood, yet defended Victor Salva who raped and molested a 12yo boy on the set of Clownhouse.
How about Liam Neeson coming out against guns in America despite making a string of action movies using them and glorifying gun violence?
Or Leonardo DiCaprio advocating for climate change reform while simultaneously using private jets that use more fuel in one trip than the average citizens uses in a year?
And of course the aforementioned petition signed by Hollywood to get Roman Polanski cleared of his rape charges against a minor.
Hypocrisy is all liberal Hollywood knows.
Why are the liberals the hypocrites here? Weinstein flouted every value conservatives hold dear, but did they ever speak out against him or mount any sort of effective attack? He violated every possible law and family value, committed adultery and corruption openly, and the conservatives kept quiet and took jobs from him! And what if some of the girls he attacked or harassed were conservatives themselves - did Bruce Willis or James Woods come to their defense? Hell no!!!
Seriously, dude, you ought to know that you're starting to sound a bit unhinged - attacking the victims of crimes with much more fervor than the perpetrator, and dragging in every possible complaint about every liberal you can think of, however unrelated to this case. Don't bother to respond, it's not like I can take you seriously.
Why not? The victims are the ones that have allowed it to fester in their cowardice. If this was dealt with swiftly from the start then maybe Harvey wouldn't have been able to get way with half of what he has. Their silence and cowardice has enabled him to violate all of these women. And for every liberal in Hollywood preaching their female empowerment jargon, it now means nothing because they have perpetrated the very rape culture that they have disavowed.

Of course it's victim blaming. These victims deserve to be blamed. I never even made that a secret. I'm so sick to death of people like you suggesting that they were completely clueless as to what happened. That they didn't know what was going on. That they were too petrified to do anything about it and in all of their shock they just allowed it to happen to them.
Is that your idea of strong independent women? Women that can't even bring themselves to say "stop"? or "I don't feel comfortable"? or to even have the courage to walk away from him? You're saying that all victims are just caught like a deer in headlights and have no strength to overcome the shock that they just let it happen? Unless he held them down against their will and raped them with no chance of them escaping, they had every opportunity in the world to prevent it.
It's in this very cowardice, you thinking about your career going out the window. about you never getting a job in Hollywood again, that allows behaviors like this to continue festering in Hollywood. And it's about high time that the enablers get called out because their cowardice has molded a rape culture in their very own industry.
And it wouldn't even anger me so much if they just allowed this behavior to happen in their own backyard if they just kept quiet about where OUR values should lie. But they took up the mantel as the moral arbiters of outside society. Every time they criticized Donald Trump, or attacked rape culture on campus, but were dead silent on what was going on in their own backyard? They should all sit down and think about what they have allowed to fester like a deep cancer in their own industry before they start spouting off on how terrible rape is. You don't get to hold yourself up with the moral high ground when you prioritize your money and your wealth and your status and your career over trying to get your homegrown predators behind bars.

people in entertainment knew for sure, politicians, i don't think they knew more than rumors they heard
shareI think the chances Obama and Clinton didn't know are pretty slim. Obama because his daughter spent time with Harvey and he would have likely been checked out, Clinton because she knows him and has already shown a willingness to give this kind of behavior a pass. I don't know this for a fact, just a feeling I have.
