I think it was smart!

If you find the man of your dreams and are considering getting married, why not use it for promotion as well...doesn't mean they love each other any less. Hitting two birds in one stone per say.

I do agree that it would have been good timing to promote PrP but it did have a lot of publicity anyways. And she said in an interview (can't remember where sorry) that she's not exactly young and doesn't want to have to wait too long. And also that she didn't see the point in taking ages planning a wedding when she already knew how she wanted it.
