After the Superbowl incident...
-Janet Jackson's music video's were banned from rotation on MTV.
-Her singles were banned from radio airplay (the first single was the MOST added song on radio in that day before it was pulled out of rotation). In a time when streams didn't exist, radio airplay and sales were the only way to chart success.
-An album initially predicted to outsell predecessor "All For You" underperformed.
-The media began an attack on Janet Jackson and much of the criticism she gets today stems from this event. Before Superbowl no one had a problem with Janet Jackson, now anything she does always gets negative criticism.
-Janet Jackson has not recovered from this event.
Justin Timberlake suffered no consequences, his albums perform very well, and he a #1 single some years ago.
In fairness it was her that decided to change the choreography at the last minute since rehearsal had none of that tit pop. The fact she had a nipple cover on indicated imo if something got out of hand else we would've see her nipple else why wear it? Her outfit piece seems to be covered with snap-on buttons that can be easily ripped off for each tit (like some SM outfit). I didn't even see a bra on her.
As for Britney Spears... I dunno about her. It seemed she cheated on him with their choreographer? Diane Sawyer made her cry though.
