By: Andy Propst · Dec 17, 2009 · Los Angeles

Maura Tierney, Kate Valk, Scott Shepherd and Ari Fliakos will join the previously announced Frances McDormand in the Wooster Group's North Atlantic when it plays REDCAT at the Walt Disney Concert Hall February 10-21. Elizabeth LeCompte will direct the piece.

North Atlantic examines the role of the military in American culture during the Cold War. The company will also feature special guest artists Steve Cuiffo, Koosil-ja Hwang, Paul Lazar, Zachary Oberzan, and Jenny Seastone-Stern.

In addition to news of casting for North Atlantic, the lineup of shows that will play at the performance space during the winter and spring has been announced. Immediately following the Wooster appearance, Chile's Teatro en el Blanco will present the West Coast premiere of Diciembre (February 24-27). Performed in Spanish with English supertitles, the play, written and directed by Guillermo Calderón, takes place in the near future in a city that is being attacked by Peruvian forces. Poet and theater artist Carl Hancock Rux will also appear at REDCAT with Poesia Negra: Race, Sex and the Myth of the American Mytopia (April 22-24).

The REDCAT season will be rounded out with works by dance pieces from the Brazilian troupe Grupo de Rua, choreographer Rosanna Gamson, and dance artist Lionel Popkin.

Producer Hopeful Maura Tierney Returning to Television
By Cynthia Wang

Maura Tierney, who left TV's Parenthood after having surgery to remove a breast tumor, may be well enough later next year to return to her other show, Rescue Me.

At a Hollywood Radio and Television Society luncheon for top show producers on Wednesday, Rescue Me executive producer Peter Tolan told PEOPLE he was making plans to bring her back for the seventh season.

"We are just about finished writing the entire sixth season, which is about 10 episodes, and then there are nine more" for Season 7, he says, "so we know we're going to bring back Maura Tierney, because we loved her and she loved us, which is even more fulfilling."

Those episodes will be shot in the spring of 2010, "so she can take care of herself and come back then."

Tierney's spokesperson confirmed that she indeed "would love to come back to Rescue Me if possible."

After a successful run as nurse Abby Lockhart on the NBC drama ER. Tierney appeared in the fifth season of Rescue Me as Kelly McPhee, a love interest for Denis Leary's firefighter Tommy Gavin. In the season finale that aired in September, Kelly seemed to reject Tommy.
