Would she have worked on Parenthood?

Maura Is a fantastic actor, but I just have trouble imagining her playing such a kooky character like Sarah Braverman on Parenthood. Anyone else know what I mean?

I read that Sarah wouldn't have been such a kooky character with Maura on board.

Where'd you here that?

i also read somewhere that they re-wrote the sarah character a bit when lauren was picked as maura's replacement.

I read in the Aussellio files a while back. The exec producer said that casting LG lightened the tone of the seriers. It was like Cato said, they rewrote the role to suit LG's strengths.

Actually, Maura has a gift for comedy as well as drama. I think 'Parenthood' would have been much, much better had she been able to stay in the role.

Watch "Newsradio," she could absolutely play kooky.

I could see that. Because if you have seen the original promos for it you can see Maura and she seems really stressed out lol. She didn't seem kooky from the previews. I would of loved to have seen her be apart of the show! Lauren Graham is awesome though. You know HELEN HUNT was going to get that role. She wanted to much $$. Go to parenthood IMDB trivia to see proof.

that's exactly what I was going to point out... the promos are so different with Maura then they are with Lauren. I think she would've played it serious with a hint of goofy, kookiness while Lauren relies on that kookiness and gives a hint of seriousness. I've been pleasantly surprised with Lauren's acting in this role, despite the fact that I was really saddened to hear that Maura had to drop the role, both for her breast cancer and for the show, but the writers have done a great job of changing the role to fit, at least from what I could tell.
