She's won 2 Oscars, stays out of the spotlight for the most part, has generated no controversy and yet she's hardly cast in anything. I think a lot of directors would like to have her in their movie.

I don't mean an A-list star. Just an actress who consistently gets good scripts. She's been doing a lot of small movies and bit parts.
shareI think she gets those smaller roles for those reasons. Squeaky wheel (publicity hound) gets the oil (role). The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about.
Also according the internet (reliable, we know ), she has a net worth of $40,000,000. With that kind of money, maybe she only wants to work part time.
