DUI dismissed

Marley Shelton will have her DUI charges dismissed -- the result of a plea deal last Friday.

Shelton was arrested in Hollywood in April, after failing a field sobriety test.

Shelton, who played Wendy the lifeguard in "The Sandlot" -- will plead no contest to speed exhibition ... and the 2 DUI charges will be dismissed. Shelton will be fined $240 plus penalties. She will be placed on 24 months informal probation -- this according to her lawyer, Trent Copeland.

A judge will take the plea on June 21.

She already had a head like a cantaloupe, so I guess the judge thought that was punishment enough.

Sometimes it pays to be blond and fair skinned. I don't think I would've got off so easily.

blond and fair skinnedDon't be too bummed. These are the kind that train wreck, or you read about them dead.

what does that have to do with anything??
Morgan Freeman wrecked his whole car to pieces, endangered one of his "girlfriends" yet he didn't have much trouble after the whole deal!!
maybe it paid off to have freckles?

Give me a break. You really think the jails are filled with first time
DUI offenders who didn't cause any injuries? Regular people get very slight slap on the wrists for their first (and all too often second or more) offenses as well.

It is EXTREMELY are for someone to see one second in jail for a first or even second DUI unless other was a serious injury involved. And even then, still not a given that they will get any jail time.

I was nearly killed by a second time DUI offender. Both times she had an accident, and the second time caused serious injury. She spent zero days in jail, other than the night she spent sobering up after she hit me.
