Yep I agree OP his role in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford is nearly identical to his role in the Hitchhiker Guide to the Galaxy. Clearly.

Of course in Moon he manages to play two characters, both on screen together, and keep them sharply differentiated.

One of my favorite Rockwell performances. Not sexy. Not cool.
But really freakin' funny.
Also, he wasn't any of those three in Iron Man 2.
I personally thought he was funny in Iron Man 2, but definitely not cool (though he thought he was) and definitely not sexy (though he definitely thought he was). It was another great character, another great performance.

He's an Actor I love, and I hope he never stops making movies.
I agree, to an extent, he's playing the one character.
It usually involves 3 things:
1. Eating whilst saying dialogue.
2. Wearing sunglasses.
3. Wearing relaxed, unbuttoned clothing.
The persona with this character is the confident, charming, lazy, manchild type.
