Can Leann Rimes make a successful comeback?

When Leann Rimes made her debut at age 13 with the song Blue she was a breath of fresh air to the Country music scene and many people thought she would become the new Patsy Cline. But ever since she released the album Twisted Angel "which was my very first Leann Rimes album by the way" Leann started to go downhill and when the song Life Goes On became a hit I couldn't figure out how she wanted to be successful in pop music and by having songs with lyrics not really tailor-made for Leann Rimes to sing. But when the This Woman album was released and the song Nothing Bout' Love Makes Sense debuted on the country charts it proved a welcome back to country for Leann but when the Family album debuted with the song Nothing Better To Do Leann Rimes proved that she still had that country spark in her but most of the Family album was mostly pop songs. But if you look at Leann Rimes current album she has gone back to pop and has released a second Christmas album and appeared in a Hallmark Channel movie. If Leann Rimes could just return to singing country music again more country fans would buy her country albums. I also think she's trying to copy Olivia-Newton John because like Leann Olivia-Newton John started out as a country singer but then switched to pop for more success and that's what Leann is aiming to do

It’s about time for her to come back, like Garth did a few years ago.

But what made Leann Rimes decide to change her genre to pop instead of country? I didn't know she was doing pop music until I heard Can't Fight The Moonlight and was surprised that she did this. I think the weakest album she released was her Sittin' On The Top Of The World album from 1998 and it was an album of mainly covers and the biggest hit from that album was Looking Through Your Eyes from Quest For Camelot and that album was the start of Leann Rimes trying to go pop. But why did she rerelease the I Need You album? I think she was wrong to release I Need You because that album hurt her career and caused her to go downhill

LeAnn is my go-to singer of choice - I just love that voice.

In Europe she released 'Remnants' a few years ago, which did quite well, and she made a few appearances on high profile TV shows when 'How to Kiss a Boy' came out. She was never huge here, but her albums have always charted quite well. I know we got a different discography to the USA as country isn't exactly massive here, so her albums have been a little more pop-centric.

The only downside was that her coinciding tour was apparently a bit of letdown, insofar as she was only on stage for about 75 minutes and neglected a number of signature songs, including the one that was her current single!

I'll always support her releases, but I don't think she'll ever be as big as she was around 1998-2003 again. If I look her up online, it seems she's now more known for the circumstances around her divorce/new relationship, which is sad.

What I also can't figure out is why Leann Rimes's album Twisted Angel got so little promotion because it seemed that Life Goes On was the only hit from that album. Because a couple more songs from Twisted Angel would've helped the album sell more. I think that Curb Records is the main cause of Leann Rimes's downfall because had they not forced her to release the I Need You album and changed her genre Leann would still be successful. Leann Rimes should've switched record labels and not gone with Curb Records because Curb Records has a habit with not promoting music stars that well
