Will Be Seen On Stage Again
But not on Broadway. He'll be in the play Red and it's going to be in Philadelphia. The original production had Alfred Molina and Eddie Redmayne (who won a Tony for the part Haley is playing)
Playbill:
Stephen Rowe and Oscar Nominee Haley Joel Osment Will Paint Philly Red Starting Oct. 14
Academy Award nominee Haley Joel Osment of "The Sixth Sense" and "Pay It Forward" will play opposite Broadway veteran Stephen Rowe in the resident Philadelphia production of the Tony Award-winning Red by John Logan.
The Philadelphia Theatre Company production begins previews Oct. 14 and opens Oct. 19 for a run to Nov. 13. Anders Cato directs.
Rowe plays abstract-expressionist painter Marc Rothko in this snapshot of an artist's passion and future decline. Rowe understudied the role on Broadway, and also appeared in Broadway's Frost/Nixon, The Goat, Some Americans Abroad, The Nerd, Spoils of War and Serious Money.
Osment plays Rothko's (fictional) studio assistant, Ken. His other film credits include "A.I." and "Secondhand Lions." He took four years off to attend NYU and recently graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. During his time at NYU he made his Broadway debut in 2008 in a revival of David Mamet's American Buffalo co-starring John Leguizamo and Cedric the Entertainer.
