I don't know about the suicidal OD, but I do know he's no DiCaprio. What is he, 5'4"? If he has any future at all, it's as villains or character parts.

Exactly. I am no DiCaprio fanboy, but any rational person can see that there is NOTHING similar as far as their careers are concerned. DiCaprio (who is 6'1" in real life -- not short like Osment) did some television work when he was younger, then he had a huge critical breakthrough (Gilbert Grape), followed by the most massive commercial breakthrough ever (TItanic obviously), and DiCaprio was a young man at that point -- not a twelve year old -- Haley's age when he last made a significant film. From there, DiCaprio never stopped -- he's gone to a massively successful career and has maintained his status as an international sex symbol. Those are just the facts.

Haley has zero chance of achieving that level of success. He could TRY for roles in small independent films, and he could try to earn some respect as an adult actor, not a former child star. At this point Haley is an unfortunate example of the talented child star who has not made the transition into adult film roles. At this point, given what he has done in the last ten years, it is highly unlikely that he will suddenly have a big breakthrough as an adult actor.
