For being 'down to earth', he sounds pretentious about acting
"Acting is a complex art,blah,blah..."
No, it's not as complex as you would like to think it is.

shareYes, but not as hard as most people believe either, or Mr Osment would not had been doing it at 8 yrs old.
Either somebody has talent or they don't-- but when they get into talking it up,then it does become pretentious.
MEOW someones got their claws out! lol But in all seriousness that is quite true what you said. The first post sounded like you were bashing him but in the second you were 100% right, in acting your either born with talent or not (theres no way you could be taught to act the way he did in The Sixith Sense).
Good post
Haley Joel Osment, Jimmy Bennett and Nathan Gamble. Truly brilliant actors
why,thanks Public
technique can be taught, not talent.
That's why when these actors attend the Lee Strasberg Studio, or Actors Studio, etc., it doesn't necessarily mean anything. Acting talent isn't that rare, it just seems like it is based on the hype.
I assume you're a naturally gifted actor? Do you have a demo reel you could show us, so we can see how easy it really is?
shareNo, not everyone can act. You can learn, but that doesn't mean that you'll be any good at it. Believe it or not, being able to act and emote with everything that you have, your voice, body, facial expressions, mannerisms, etc. is very complex and takes a lot of work to be convincing. Acting isn't just showing up and saying a few words, and then leaving.
