Face it, this guy didn't age well at all. His face looks too immature and weird for his age, with a super deep voice so it comes off as awkward. Compared to the Harry Potter cast, he certainly did not age well and the cool part about Harry Potter was either growing up with the actors or watching them grow up over the span of like 9 years. Steven Spielberg would have effed up the series making it American, and it would have sucked big time with Haley as Harry. It probably wouldn't have made it to 8 films at all.

I just watched Deathly Hallows and I had similar thoughts re: How close Spielberg came to ruining this great series of films and how HJO would not have fit the part of Harry Potter at all. Still, I don't think he's ugly so much as unusual looking.HJO had a lot of talent as a child actor and I still think he could make it as an adult if he found the right roles.

I believe Spielberg intended to combine the first few books and make an animated film.

Daniel Radcliffe isn't exactly a looker either. He aged like McCauley Caulkin, which isn't a compliment. He looked pretty cute and adorable in HP1, and by the last movie, had really become just unattractive. Did you see his body in one of the last Harry Potter movies (the 6th or one of the parts of the last book, when he's escaping the Death Eaters and his friends all change appearance to look like him)? I was shocked at how unattractive, and quite frankly ugly, a body he had, so I don't think it really would have mattered if Haley had gotten the part.

I think it's the curse of kid stars. They start out cute and stuff but age to become so ugly (off the top of my head, I can think of Caulkin, Osment, Radcliffe, and Jake Lloyd). It doesn't help that neither of these guys (Radcliffe and Osmont) work out.

JK Rowling made it quite clear that the actor portraying Harry Potter HAD to be British. And frankly i am glad that she did...

I don't want Haley as Harry Potter but in my opinion Yates completely destroyed the HP franchise with his awful bland direction. I feel no emotion when watching his films EVER. No matter how pretty they are. It's just a huge disconnect IMO.
