OMG......I had no idea that was the kid from stand by me....I love that movie.....also had no idea he was in Joe's apartment.....Man the things you can learn from this site. "Stand By Me" today is still one of my favorite movies of all time!

I was just in New Orleans and accidentally became an extra in a Jerry O'connel film called "Midnight Bayou". it's supposed to air on Lifetime next year. Fat kid from "Stand by Me" kept walking past me for several takes. It was cool!

Watching "Mission to Mars" I kept thinking "damn he looks familiar" - that slightly dopey face. At last I got it - Verrrrrrrn! Oh Verrrrrno! Yes, it's Vern from Stand By Me! Hard to take him seriously in an adult role now.

Similar thing recently happened watching the 1989 movie "Parenthood" which I've seen dozens of times. Who the heck is that 14 year old kid? Those eyes look familiar - oh yeah it's Joaquin Phoenix.
