Law School No College Degree?

I think that it is great that Jerry O'Connell is going to law school but how can he do it without a college degree? I am pretty sure that anyone can take the Bar Exam, without any requirements but isn't a college degree a requirement for law school?

reply

Apparently, he went to NYU. Don't know if he finished his degree, though...

I too wondered that.
Is he going bc he wants to or is this movie role research?

Reports say his wife is domineering. U think Reb said "I want 2 be the sole actress in the family. U go do s/t else" so he went 2 law school?

I read that he left NYU in the 90's. I think a college degree is needed for law and medical school. I read that Jerry took the LSAT test. Maybe he finished his college degree and it was never really publicized. I think maybe he wants to work in entertainment law or be an agent.

The Dude: Jesus.
Jesus Quintana: You said it, man. Nobody *beep* with the Jesus.

The article for which a link was provided here by another poster did say that he's enrolled in law school, though never finished at NYU. I can't believe it. I know that a Bachelors is required to attend law school. Perhaps he was admitted just because he's a celebrity and they know that he can pay the tuition. I do know that his law school is not even a top 2 tier school...so maybe they have much less stringent requirements as well.

I always thought he finished his bachelor's at NYU. You do need one to get into law school, so I'm sure he has it despite some reports to the contrary. You can't believe everything you read online these days. If he's attending law school, he obviously did whatever was necessary to get in.

At many law schools, you just need to complete 90 semesters of undergraduate credit for admission.

According to his history, he completed his degree in 1995. But with decent grades and score on LSAT and MCATs - you can get into law or medical school without a degree. You only need a minimum of 90 credits.
