Surprisingly not in my opinion. I think that they did a good job after he leaves but it's hard to fill those shoes. Danny Pino and Kelli Giddish were both brought in the following season as new detectives. Later when Dann Florek and Richard Belzer left, Peter Scandinavio joined the cast as another detective. Pino replaced Meloni as Bensons partner and it took a little time but he became a very good partner to Liv. They began to share the same kind of relationship as El and Liv had, at times, maybe even a little stronger based on the stories.

It's too bad though that he recently decided to leave the show and I'm not sure what is going to happen
now besides the possibility of Cragen and Munch returning for special appearances.

I still miss Elliot sometimes but they have done a good job continuing the show for the three or four seasons after his last appearance. There are some lukewarm episodes but there were also some when Chris was still part of the cast. If you enjoy the show you should at least give the first four or five episodes in the thirteenth season to see what you think.

He is good on SVU, but shines even more on some of other work, especially Oz. As far as SVU, I think it is still fairly good after he helots - Amaro and Rollins are good additions.

Some say yes; some say no. You need to watch!
