She gives mixed messages. ''Role model'' for girls, BUT posed for...

"Stuff" and other men's magazines. Doing those are not showing
how girls/women are to be self-assured and competent in life.

i don't think you have to pretend not to be an adult to be a role model.

To you and others who have made similar posts, question: would your reaction be the same if she were to appear in a hardcore pornographic film?

I'm not trying to be sarcastic or argumentative; simply trying to clarify your position.

For me? Yes. As long as she's of age, she can do as she pleases.

Of course she can do as she pleases. I don't think anybody denies that. Unless she is breaking the law, she can certainly do as she pleases.

Let me ask you the following:

Would you have any problem with a school inviting a hardcore porn star to speak to a 7th grade class of girls for the purpose of serving as a role model for those girls, to show them the benefits of being a hardcore porn star?

I'm guessing you're one of those people that was upset when Sasha Alexander was invited to read to a bunch of children, aren't you?

Since pornography has become so mainstream, there's little to argue against. Sex is a perfectly natural thing, and if people can make money off of it, more power to them. So, no, I would not have a problem if a porn star came to discuss his/her job.

I'm curious as to how old you are and whether you have children. My guess is that you are under 25 and do not have children, and that when you have a 13-year-old daughter, you will not be giving the same response.

How very condescending.

I'm 31, my wife is 29, we have three children (two sons and a daughter) and three nieces. My daughter is my oldest at 10. Unlike you, I accept sex is a natural part of life; it is something beautiful to be celebrated, not repressed. If, when she is 18, my daughter decides she wants to be in pornography, model for Playboy, or even become one of Maxim's Hometown Hotties, I'll be supportive because I care for her happiness.

My apologies on my incorrect assumptions.

I would however like to say that I feel that you too are condescending for your statement:

"Unlike you, I accept sex is a natural part of life; it is something beautiful to be celebrated, not repressed."

I certainly accept that sex is a natural part of life. I also believe that it is something beautiful. And I also believe that it is to be celebrated.

My discomfort with pornography and prostitution in no way stems from a rejection of the above beliefs.

Final questions for now: Would you be comfortable with your daughter as a prostitute? Would you be comfortable with her sleeping with a different guy every night? I'm simply trying to see how far apart our beliefs lie.
