I remember crushing on her and her sisters. I think it was a short spat of time in the late 70s/early 80s when Country Music was a national past time and very popular even in suburban America. After MTV arrived, followed by the growing popularity of Hip Hop, Michael Jackson, Rap, and New Wave music did the country music genre fall back into its little demographic corner of the pop world.
shareYeah, I watched the show all the time. I was never into country music, but i had a big crush on Barbara (also liked Louise quite a bit too), plus I liked the silly puppets that were on the show, which to this day I think was the only time anyone ever made a puppet have chest hair, which is so weird. I wish Barbara had been a rock singer instead, like a Pat Benatar type, but I think her voice probably would've been better suited as a blues singer. I loved the show though; it was fun.
