There are times I could swear someone must have punched her in the face!

I agree with some of the other posters: She's not ugly, but I do think her facial bone structure is unfortunate. I'm watching Elementary (2012) for the first time (yeah, I'm primarily a reader, what do I know about TV? ) and I've noticed she has an extremely narrow range of lighting in which she can be fairly said to be pretty. In those moments she can take your breath away.

But they're few. The lighting in Elementary (2012) leans heavily toward a dark spectrum. That, and most of her indoor scenes in the Police Precinct, can do an injury to someone with her bone structure. The shadows give her face a "bruised", "puffy" aspect.

It's so bizarre to see her paired with Jonny Lee Miller! like watching a blow torch come in contact with water. He's almost clinically hyper; and she's (er, I don't have a better way to say this) . . . the Adult in the room?

And I used to think Jeremy Brett was intense!! These Scorpio Sherlocks are just so incredible! I will say this for Lucy Liu, she definitely does not look 47!

Funniest thing, I was watching Lucy Liu interviews on YouTube, and she WAS once punched in the face and knocked out during her first (and only) boxing match! Here's the link to that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PpHE0LgSbE8
