Why all the sexual orientation questions?

In lots of interviews he mentions girlfriends or ex-girlfriends.

In one interview he talks about a non-actress girlfriend he dated on and off for years and even jokes about how he "stalked" her/left things on her doorstep.

It seems pretty clear that he is straight. though perhaps he is bi-sexual, however he is certainly likes chicks. if he likes dudes too, more power to him.

Just wanted to clear that up....

Why all the questions?

Because people are effing ignorant and they automatically think that an actor playing gay (and he played it damned well--Angels in America, if you're not aware) means "OMG he must be gay!!!!" Same thing happened to Michael C. Hall, except I guess his playing a serial killer distracted people enough to stop asking.

It's because he has played gay characters in movies. He's a good actor so he's very convincing in all of his roles. People have a difficult time separating characters from the actors that play them.

It is interesting how people often don't seem to really be able to distinguish between actors and their characters. I remember reading an interview with Mary-Louise Parker where she said strangers have tried to buy weed from her.

It's because we (the gays) want him. I mean c'mon. He's cute :)

I'm gay, and I am perfectly fine at separating actors from their screen roles.

While my gaydar doesn't go through the roof, I am pretty convinced he's gay. First of all, I'd say it's in his eyes: I've never seen a straight man have that very intense staring quality to them, and his snide and snarky comments are deilevered just a little too well. I can't really think of any straight actor in Hollywood either that has an almost permanently hollowed-out features in their face (not including some of the actors that permanently play creepy characters on screen, like Julian Richings).

Factor in the fact, then, that there is not a single reference to any women he's dated ever on the internet, nor does any website at all go into any details about his personal life ... well, all I can say if that doesn't make 1+1=2 for the rest of you, I think you fail at life maths.

Not outrageously obvious at all, but very easily figured out (which is kinda like me, so I'm told).

I'm a gay man and he sets off my gaydar, too - big time. Dunnoh why. Nothing specific, he just does.

Gay here and he definitely has something gay about him. This isn't because he played a gay character. But he definitely doesn't feel straight.

I gotta go feed that thing in Room 33.
