He gave a great interview today on Richard Bacon's show on BBC Radio 5 during their Wimbledon coverage. He was also shown on a crowd shot during the Murray match this evening.

I noticed they showed a clip of him at the Murray match chewing gum on Youtube. Is he a smoker?

No he is not a smoker. Gave it up years ago but he did have to smoke for his mini-series Case Histories that was just shown on BBC. Maybe he's still trying to get rid of the taste.
