Great actor but...

I've been a fan of Isaacs for some time now, and I am intrigued by the show but his accent needs a lot of work, I realize it must be very difficult to get an American accent right, (while erasing his lovely English accent) but he seems to merely mumble and gets in the way of his delivery and makes it hard to understand him at time. He seems to be going for a Chicago accent although the show's in LA, my advice is, relax your mouth and open it more and be more expressive.

Where in any episode is it implied that Britten is a native of LA? No where to my knowledge. Many people move to LA (though why is beyond me) so whose to say the character wasn't originally from Chicago or somewhere else in the upper mid-west.

I could have sworn in the first episodes they made a passing comment that he was originally from NY. Having said that, I think he does a great American accent. I don't get mumbling at all.

Hmmm, I must've missed that. I will have to rewatch some of them.

Actually, Isaacs has said in quite a few interviews that he gave a personal background to the character being from New Jersey and having moved to San Diego etc etc. I think having done a Providence accent for Brotherhood, and considering how deep his voice is, this comes more naturally to him rather than the California accent where it's quite lazy and relaxed.

I actually think he's a stand out when it comes to all accents and intonation.
