While buying tickets for film critic Mark Kermode's event about film music (with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra) I spotted that he's also interviewing Jason Isaacs as part of the event and thought you might like to know :)

The link isn't immediately obvious to me, but it sounds like an interesting evening.

The link is that Mark Kermode and Jason Isaacs went to school together, are friends and that on Mark and Simon Mayo's Radio 5 film review show they frequently say "Hello to Jason Isaacs" - a sentence that also pops up in various other places now e.g. if you Google Jason Isaacs, it says Hello to Jason Isaacs at the top of the page.

I have just been to this event and it was wonderful. Jason's great fun and the selection of film music (some Mark Kermode's favourites, some from film's Jason's been in and a favourite of Simon Mayo who joined them on stage) was great. An unexpected delight (only because I'd deliberately avoided finding out beforehand what they'd be playing) was hearing the theme tune for the Harry Potter films ('Hedwig's Theme') played live by the Birmingham City Symphony Orchestra, along with Bernard Herrmann's score for Taxi Driver and Angelo Badalamenti's theme for Fire Walk With Me. Awesome :) Oh, and the overture from Mary Poppins!
