She needs more dramatic roles.

Now, let me tell you, a majority of the films I've heard her be in are genre specific, namely action and horror. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind them, but I saw an episode of "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit," that has her in it. To me, her performance was amazing, and it wasn't even an action role or a horror movie role. She did what so few actresses that have guest starred on that show haven't done, she made me actually believe that she was a victim of rape.

That performance had to be the first truly dramatic role I've seen Kelly Hu perform. And I'm surprised she hasn't gotten a lot more dramatic roles. She definitely needs more dramatic roles in my opinion. What do you think? Should she stick with the typical action/horror stuff or should she be given a chance to perform a few more dramatic roles?

You're entitled to your opinion, and I don't mean to be rude, but I think you believe every actress sucks (I'm saying this primarily because of what I've read in your forum post history).

And you need some life and politeness lessons.

Zagyg- I couldn't agree with you more about that. I have reason to suspect that Teacher skimmed through my post and then just commented with a typical cut and paste of "she sucks" (going from his past posts, which makes me suspect that he feels that 95% of all actresses, if not all actresses in general, "suck."). I have reason to suspect that he's a bit of a misogynistic.

She definitely needs more dramatic roles. You should have seen her in Vampire Diaries. While technically it was a horror/action role it was still a good dramatic role for her, IMO. Her character was a badass, but still had a very vulnerable and loving side as well. Kelly played the character very well and it's a real shame that the role was so brief and was written off the way it was. It's also a shame that the pilot for a show she was going to star in was not picked up.

""Odds," from WBTV, is a buddy-cop show set in Las Vegas, where the police are as outrageous as the crimes they solve.

Innovative-repped Hu will play the tough-as-nails ADA who pushes the guys to deconstruct the bizarre crime scenes and serves as the moral voice of the show."

From the looks of it, the character she played was going to be important in the show, as well a very different character from the ones she's played before.

IMO, in the 90's and the early 00's she tended to flounder between being good and being mediocre. I feel she's really stepped up her acting in more recent years and become a much more consistently good and interesting actress.

I agree with you.She was great on The Vampire Diaries. She appearing on it was the reason I deceded to check on what kind of Vampire show it was.Kelly did
great as Pearl.

A big problem Is lately she does a lot more Voice over jobs than actully
appearing In the flesh In movies or tv.

Vampire Diaries was the most visable work she has done since X2.

I can remember watching her on nash Bridges and martial law.Of course that
shows my age.

Have you seen Farm House? She was excellent in it. A perfect psycho bi**h.

Boycott movies that involve real animal violence! (and their directors too)
