But was she better than Amy Adams and Viola Davis ?? no
So She's overrated and didn't deserve the Oscar.
Amy Adams was Robbed. Her performance was Brilliant in "Doubt" and much more better than Cruz !!

shareCruz was better in Nine and Volver, but to say she wasn't the best of the nominees is laughable. She blew everyone else out of the water. Now if Winslet would've been there for The Reader, it would've been okay if she lost, but not with the company she was in. The Doubt ladies were not better than her.

I thought her performance was brilliant! She was awesomely entertaining. She played unstable, emotional, complex, an artist. As always she was sexy and brought much humor to this role.
shareShe did a very bad job in Vicky, It is very hard to understand how she got a lot of attention and awards (marketing maybe??), she was far the worst of the cast... She does not have a good accent also in spanish, she does not speak well, her voice is not clear and she does not pronounce words well, her accent in english is broken.
shareCruz was better than Viola Davis and as for Amy Adams, I believe she deserves to get an oscar sometime in the near future because she's a great actress too. Cruz is so popular right now because she's mastered every genre: Musical, Comedy, Drama, Crime, and Romance. That's what makes her the best actress of our generation. Have you even seen Viola Davis in another Oscar worthy movie? No. That's because Penelope blows it away, every single time she acts.
shareI thought Cruz' performance was excellent in Vicky Cristina Barcelona. I loved her acting! That character is not as easy as you may think. you're right, she's mastered every genre but her beauty at times is intimidating for some to accept her.
