Ain't nothing wrong with Mr. Brody's looks----it's just that people have been so brainwashed by Hollywood to believe that only what Hollywood think is attractive is the be-all end end-all, that they find it hard to accept any deviation from the Hollywood norm,so to speak. I like him as an actor because he just brings the realness to his characters onscreen, and he's also a refreshing change from the prescribed blonde,blue-eyed, perfect-looking supermodel pretty boy types Hollywood shoves in our faces on the regular and insists we must think is all of that and more. That being said, I'd love to see him play way more bad guy roles (he was the villain in THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL, and even though his character was an evil d***, he did look good in that old-school black suit outfit.
Also some posters claim they hate him because he's supposedly a smug, vain narcissistic p****, well, someone who's actually like that (like Donald Trump's smug arrogant a**,for instance) is usually the type of person that wants to be front of the camera and have all the attention on them all the time, or in the news, and make it all about them, them, all of the time. Mr. B seems the very opposite of that---I've rarely seen him in the media, even to promote a film---he seems more interested in developing himself as a character actor (which is actually better in the long run for longitivity in show bizness) and not just a movie star----in other words, not playing the Hollywood game so much, which is why he's got such an interesting resume, on top of that. Casting directors probably look at it and go, "Dang, who and what can he NOT play? He's played everybody and their mama already!"
