Hmm..This has never been my impression of Mariska at all! And she didn't make her character ultra-girly. It is the costume designer and the make up artist, together with the writers, director and sometimes producer, who decides what the character will look like. Offcourse she has some say in it, but ultimately it is TPTB who decides.. Maybe it was they who did it to avoid the gay rumor surrounding Olivia? But that said, when was the character ultra-girly? Perhaps in a few episodes of season 8, but other than that she still is kind of masculine in both outfit and behavior..

She does not act cold towards gay people at all, when she is asked what she feels about having become somewhat of an lesbian icon, she says she is proud of it, to have reached that audience, cause she knows how hard they are to please.. And then she has said that she likes all her fans, and that she does not care if they are gay or straight...

Just curious, what has she said and done outside of making the character more girly for you to have that impression of her?

I have to agree with Cahilla, I've never seen anything where Mariska has been homophobic. Mariska is amazing not only as an actress but she clearly does care for everyone. The Joyful Heart Foundation is only one of the orgs shes behind. Calling her homophobic is so far off base its sad.

you could not be further from the truth. i know her, very well actually, and nothing you said is correct. first of all, anything her character on the show does, is scripted. so anything girly about liv, is just her acting. she is a beautiful woman with an amazing heart that has devoted the last 11 years to helping victims of abuse in every way that she can. that includes men, women, children, straight, bi, gay and transgender people. just because someone doesnt want to be mistaken as gay does not make them homophoic. you need to understand that some of the things she does is to protect her son from seeing slander in the media. she happens to be very happily married to a wonderful man. maybe you should do a little more research next time before you try to slander someones name. and as far as her being a supposed victims advocate, how many other celebrites have started and personally run a foundation with their own funding to aid the victims you claim she is cold towards. nice try.

The writers and producers of the show come up with the character, she just does the acting. You said she is so cold towards gays, give me an incident that happened or some proof, don't just come here and start laying out accusation on someone without any of that plz.

So basically what your doing is speculating.. It isn't like she came out and said anything purposely derogatory against homosexuals. She can't control what people interpret, or misinterpret, perhaps you should keep that in mind before you call someone intolerant.

That's BS. Mariska said on her own site that the has no problem being a lesbian pin up. Unfortunately the 'ask Mariska' section of the site is down. Otherwise i would have posted the link.
