Marilyn a natural blonde? Since when? She was a white haired little kid and it darkened as she got older to brown so of course it was lightened and straightened too. Jayne before she started hitting the peroxide could have been sisters with Jane Russell. Yeah, I'm well aquainted with with what women do with their hair and the slang terms as well.

What I meant was Jayne Mansfield's hair before she went blonde was as dark as J. Russell. Kim Novak was known as lavender blonde for a while, because of the tint that was used in her hair, I guess they thought it would make her stand out fom other blondes. I believe Kim was a natural blonde, I haven't seen many early photos of her so I could be wrong. Who is Kelly?

The typical stereotype that most casting prefer is blonde, hour-glass figure, big boobs, etc that Jayne was famous for. Mariska went the different way. Also, Jayne said no to TV (Gilligan's Island) as in those days movie stars looked down on TV with their noses up in the air and Jayne considered herself as a movie star. Meanwhile, Mariska is TV friendly and one of the highest paid actresses. Jayne shoulda opted for TV! It could've saved her life.
