He looked much younger than Mark Lenard did at 72. I thought Ben was much younger.

So sorry to hear this news. Chariots of Fire is a favorite of mine, and he was a standout out in that film. And he was quite good in NBC's attempted revival of Dark Shadows, a series that should have lasted longer than it did, because it really captured the essence of the original while adding something new as well. And again, he was a standout.

My first Ben Cross movie was Chariots of Fire. Loved his inspired portrayal of a competitive young man chasing glory. He also got to land Alice Krige (meow)

He played lots of dashing, rugged guys. Loved his performances in Chariots of Fire, The Far Pavillions and The Flame Trees of Thika. RIP

Oh, The Flame Trees of Thika! I must have been 8 or 9 when it was on and I remember being hooked. It’s possibly the first proper ‘grown-up” show I ever watched. I wonder how it holds up nearly four decades later.
