Fantomas with Christophe Gans

First, I read Vincent is going to play the leading role in Fantomas, directed by Christophe Gans. They would work magic again, I'm sure.

Then I saw news that Vinz would have pulled out of the project because of scheduling difficulties. That's a shame, if it is so. In IMDb you can still see him involved in the movie, but in allocine.fr he's not.

I would SO want to see them make another movie together.

Instead of Fantomas, he s going to play Lafayette, from Richet, so that's why he dropped off Fantomas. That's what he explained.

Such a shame. He would have both fit the Fantomas role, plus Christophe Gans would have been able to squeeze a fantastic performance out of him again . Oh well, maybe some day.

Gans had big plans with Vincent in the past ("The Adventurer", "The Swedish Cavalier"), yet nothing happened at all. *shrugs* To me it seems, Christophe Gans has great ideas, but no oppotunity to make them happen. Who knows.

Vincent said, they are one and a half year into that project and still don't have a proper script for the movie. So he pulled out, because he needs to plan other projects of his.

I don't care. I am looking far more forward to "Lafayette" (and "Trance" !!!!) than I did to "Fantomas".

Well, yeah. I understand that no one wants to wait forever. I just found the combination Gans/Cassel a very intriguing one, and I hope there will sometimes be a project for them together.

Oh and let's not forget Le Capitale! Costa-Gavras is an important director, always has really deep and interesting movies. Now he's teaming up with Vincent and Gabriel Byrne (among others). One more movie to look forward to in 2013!
