Films with Cassel I've seen - my ratings

I've seen the following:

La Haine, 9/10 for performance and 10/10 for the film.
L'Appartement, him 8/10 and the same for the film.
Elizabeth, only a bit part but funny and memorable 9/10, the film 8/10.
Crimson Rivers, loved him in this 9/10, but the film was disappointing so only 5/10.
Read My Lips, just seen, 10/10 for him and 9/10 for the film.
Irreversible, 9/10 for him and 5/10 for the film.
Eastern Promises, 9/10 for him and 6/10 for the film.
Mesrine, 10/10 for him - he is this man! 10/10 for both films, uncompromising and gritty.
Black Swan, 8/10 for Vinz. 6.5/10 for the film.
Dobermann, 10/10 for Vinz. 10/10 for the film. Great soundtrack.
A Dangerous Method, 10/10 for him. He plays a great cameo; very funy but poignant too. 8/10 for the film.
Blueberry, 7/10 for Vinz. 6/10 for the film.
Adrift, 9/10 for Vinz. 8/10 for the film. I like him speaking Portuguese and could see him as Brazilian. He has the passion to be Brazilian.
Le Moine - 9/10 for Vinz and 8/10 for the film.
Trance - 6/10 for Vinz, his weakest performance. 4/10 for the film, colourful crap.
Blueberry - 7/10 for Vinz and 5/10 for the film.
Our Day will Come - 6/10 for both Vinz and film.
Agree/disagree? Any other films of his that you recommend as must-sees?

A Deriva and l'Eleve are both interesting because in these movies, Cassel doesn't play at all the "bad boy" of the story, so that's a different look on his actor's talent.

Thanks Natalia. I'll check these out.

Have you seen all of Cassel's films? I'd be interested to hear your favourites.

Mesrine: Killer Instinct - 7/10
Eastern Promises - 8/10
Derailed - 4/10

Still waiting to see La Haine. Birthday Girl and The Reckoning are worth a watch if you come across them, and Black Swan is excellent (as is he) but he's only a support in all three. A Dangerous Method and Fantomas look interesting though.

Hi iratemovies,

Thanks for your post and recommendations. Aside from Black Swan I hadn't heard of the other 2 you name.
