Physical actor

I re-watched La Haine and was really struck by how expressive Cassel is physically in his acting. For instance, in one scene his character Vinz reunites with his friends at the railway station after having been separated during an altercation with the police. His friends are angry at him and as he walks up to them, he says nothing just wears this bland expression on his face but his body is saying 'how are you doing?' They walk away from him and he just sort of sniffs as much as to say 'oh well' and trundles off after them. It was hilarious and really, really clever. I'd love this guy to do a role that involved mime or physical capers like Buster Keaton's and Harold Lloyd's.

True. I agree with you. Vincent can fill the stage and speak without saying anything. He communicates with just appearing, being present.

I can't wait for Trance, Danny Boyle s' next movie, where Cassel has an important role. Think it will be great !
