Why does he always play some kind of scumbag?

Irreversible, Derailed....so many others.

Man he always plays a good criminal. Does he mind being typecast?

He seems to pick roles that interest him. I've read he doesn't want to be typecast. I'm not up to date on his filmography but he would be great in a comedy.

I thought he was strikingly handsome in the 90s... take a look at him in L’Appartement - but he did age quite rapidly. He still had a certain something as late as Eastern Promises.

He just looks like an asshole, to be honest. I don't know what he's like in real life, perhaps he could be a really nice guy, but his face alone just screams prick. Nothing against the guy personally.

Late reply but how is he a scumbag in irreversible? He was on a vendetta to find the person who raped the girl !
