Sounds like she inherited bipolar from her mother, who was also abusive to Clara.
That was an understatement. According to reports, her mom attempted to slit her throat at 16, while she was sleeping. Luckily she woke up, and fought her off. I also heard reports her dad tried to be sexually inappropriate with her at times as well. Poor gal! She also watched her little friend, a boy who lived next door die in front of her as a result of burning to death, from a fire in his house. Clara never knew the reason for the fire. Either he was playing with the stove or his mom killed him.She tried valiantly to save him. His death haunted her all her life.
