I've never heard her speak in an interview. She doesn't have a British accent in some of her films but she does in others. From the films I've seen her in, I keep seeing the American accent.

I don't think she was raised in England - I recall an interview from her Wonder Years days where she said she attended school in France and it was the first language she learned. Not sure if she still speaks French though. Not sure where she spent the rest of her childhood - she started making films at 15, I think and most films she has made are American films. I think she spends the bulk of her time in Los Angeles.

Her real voice is an English accent. I remember hearing her years ago on Regis and Kathie Lee. She is one of the many foreign actors that can do a flawless American accent, and has used it to her advantage in shows like the Wonder Years and Growing Pains.

Met her at a charity golf event a couple years ago. She has a very thick English accent. Remember, part of being an actor/actris is the ability to adapt and become that character. Ewan McGregor hides his Scottish accent very well.

There's a recent video of her on youtube talking and she has a light British accent.

I heard her English accent on Wonder Years when she had to raise her voice during an emotional scene.
