Cannot do an Australian accent to save her life

Anybody who has seen her episodes of "Law and Order: Criminal Intent" will know exactly what I mean, especially if you are Australian. Her character on the show was supposed to be Australian, but the very British Miss d'Abo should stick to her native accent - her alleged Australian accent could not have been more English. No offense to her - I like her very much as an actress - but, for heaven's sake, they could have made her character English instead of Australian. That accent was atrocious!

As I understand the storyline, Nicole Wallace is English a lot of the things she says are englishisms but she has stolen the identity of Elizabeth Hitchens , an australian. So I don't think that she is supposed to have an austrailian accent. But her English accent annoys the hell out of me.

I just caught her in True Q which was shown on Sky One this evening. She was a pretty little thing in 88. But I''m not sure about her american accent either.

I couldn't really tell what she was supposed to be and I'm English! And for crying out loud, NOBODY uses the phrase 'wouldn't butter your parsnips'!!! It must be another one of those weird stereotypes that Americans *think* that we Brits and/or Australians say but actually sound as strange to us as they do to them!

OK, rant over, apart from those two things I think Nicole is a fab nemesis for Goren even though I find myself wishing that Alex would just scratch her eyeballs out every time she tortures Bobby. I guess that's the key to a great bad guy/girl, you have to love to hate 'em (kinda like Krycek.)
