We don't see Catherine Zeta-Jones in big, juicy roles anymore. Why not?

shareWell, she apparently will star in The Godmother, about Colombian drug lord Griselda Blanco.
Blanco's story is here:

If the movie is done right it could be a big comeback role.

She's very cold onscreen, and certainly exudes a very off-putting haughtiness, which served her well in CHICAGO and that awful, unfunny film with George Clooney. While she's been good in some films (she was better than I expected in NO RESERVATIONS), I don't think she's a major talent. Very beautiful, but even Sharon Stone is warmer.

The cellphone ad campaign was a career-masher, no actor in their right mind does a non-beauty ad campaign unless they're desperate to cash out on that last sliver of fame they're holding onto.
Zeta's contract with them was inexplicable. It killed her glam-queen cred (wal-mart ads would've been only slightly more downmarket), it overexposed her which tanked what little box office appeal she had ... I'll never understand the career calculus that went into that deal. I'm thinking it was Zeta-Jones sniffing cash and not taking anyone elses advice.

I just don't think she's very ambitious, and she seems content in her life.
I also agree with others about bad career choices (T-Mobile) and not being able to pick good scripts. Or, not having the right scripts offered to her. Every actress should have at least one successful rom-com, and she has none.
And showing her puffing on a stick while 7 months pregnant turned her off from her target audience.

I think she's absolutely stunning. Quite beautiful but also cold.%0D %0D I could handle the coldness, though, if I got any sense of real personality from her. She seems to be complete devoid of personality and exudes no charisma, which is so bizarre coming from someone with her looks and body. When people didn't know who she was, they projected charisma onto her (as in, "she's gotta have it; Just *look* at her!!!!"), but as audiences saw more and more of her in movies and in interviews, it became really clear that there's nothing there. I don't care if I ever see another movie with her, because while I think she's an okay actress, I now get bored senseless.%0D %0D She reminds me a lot of those men and women you meet in the workplace and think are absolutely amazing (due to looks and how they should seem), but then you get to know them, and not only are they boring, they make *you* boring by sucking the life out of the room.

Then why exactly is this article being written in the first place w/o any rationale or solid proof/evidence on the contrary!? Sometimes, it's better to be realistic than to be a blindly loyal stan!
shareMan, please, get a life !
Of course Hollywood will still cast Zeta-Jones ! She is currently working on the TV series "Feud" created by Ryan Murphy ... the man is simply the best TV director of the last 10 years. He created "Nip/Tuck", "Glee", "American Horror Story", etc. Plus, Zeta-Jones is also rumoured for "Ant-Man and the Wasp".
Greed is good !
There's a difference between simply being a "working" actor/actress (who is just getting buy) and being an actual A-list star/marquee name. Will you actually read the article first before who have to be so dismissive!?
shareWhen you're courted by Ryan Murphy, you're an important actress.
