Holy hell balls! I am exactly one scene into his performance on The Shield and it is already the best work I have ever seen him do. Yes I've seen Samurai and Last King of Scotland and Platoon. But unless he completely loses this character he hasn't topped this.
shareI just finished the series for the first time myself. It was an amazing ride, and season 5 is probably the best one, or at least up there. You're in for a good ride with Kavanaugh on the hunt!

shareKavanaugh is not the bad guy, but the most hated character on the show. Which shows how good Whitakers performance is. Ironically he is the anti-Vic Mackey. Vic is egoistic, corrupted and ultimately evil, but acts like the noble hero. Kavanaugh is the total opposite.
...they mostly come at night... mostly.
Defintely should have won an emmy.
