Tarantino must cast him

Carl Weathers has cult-appeal and enough familiarity with folks who have grown up watching Commando and Rocky for him to have a small comeback.

Carl acting out dialogue written by Tarantino just seems so damn appealing to me.

I don't think you actually read what he wrote. He said Tarantino must cast him, which sounds remarkably like it's a wish of his that he would like Tarantino to fulfill. He didn't start a thread called "Tarantino is casting Weathers in " and he even mentions that he would love to see such a thing happen.

*sigh* I miss my donkey

That is actually a good idea. Tarantino specializes in helping cult actors with some career comebacks (Sid Haig, Robert Forster, Pam Grier, and David Carradine). Why not Carl Weathers? Lee Majors would be cool too to have in a Quentin film....

Wtf?? I just finished watching Rocky IV and I was thinking the same thing, that actor is excellent, he has a larger than life personlaity at least on-screen, and he would do great in a Pulp Fiction sort of movie.

He is definitely a 'must cast' kind of actor, that guy is great, I have also seen a lot of his recent work in the last few years, including a show he made and his guest spots in The Shield.

Yeah, it would be pretty cool if Weathers was in a QT film. I could see that, and I believe it would go well.

I've always wanted to see Stallone in a Tarantino picture too. Maybe Quentin could somehow cast them both...that'd be very cool seeing Sly and Weathers working together again, but playing different characters other then Rocky and Apollo. Although I know Sly and Weathers have some heat with each other since Weathers wanted too much money for Sly to put old "Rocky" footage of him in "Rocky Balboa". But hey...they're pros, so maybe they could look past that and work together again.

So I heard this from a guy who knows Carl's agent well. Stallone wanted to pay Carl SCALE, that's it, for the Apollo Creed film clips! Can you blame him for saying no? I mean really, what an insult. Carl aka "Apollo Creed" was the best foe Rocky ever had and what it really came down to was greed on Stallone's side not Carl's. Because guess who profits from the film? Stallone and the studio, not any of the other players who were paid off. Seriously I respect Carl for standing his ground. He's known in Hollywood as a great guy and Mr. Tarantino... PLEASE CAST HIM!!!
