I really disliked how he handled his son and his pursuit of a career...

I remember watching an old stand up of Damon's on Comedy Central a few years ago and he was poking fun at his son, Damon Jr. And he was poking fun at the fact that Damon Jr. was such a nerd, he did science projects, and the fact that he was so boring. Around the same time, one of Damon's nephews came to live with him who was the complete opposite; his nephew was from the street, his nephew walked and talked like he was from hood.

And obviously, Damon Sr. wished Jr. would be more like his cousin. Fast forward a few years and Damon Sr. and his son on a talk show and the interviewer mentioned the jokes from the stand up and asked Damon Jr. how he felt. And he said, Oh my god I was such a nerd I am so glad I grew out it and the fact that I am in the family business and how the family helped him in the business and what not...

No offense to Damon (Sr.) or family for that matter, but I see so much wrong with this situation. Whether or not you like your child's interest or not (healthy and productive interests of course), as a good parent you should support no matter what, right? Damon Jr. could have been a scientist or doctor you never know...

And know he is in the family business, don't get me wrong, the Wayans brothers have been entertaining for years, but these are the same folks who put out White Chicks and Little Man, wtf...

God knows, I hope Jr. doesn't put out another Marci X...

Any thoughts?....

Damon Sr. got his nerve. He should have been more worried about how his career went down the toilet after In Living Color. He was in The Last Boy Scout in 1991 with Bruce Willis who was huge at the time, was on In Living Color, and he had a potential career vehicle in Mo'Money in 1992 that didn't really take his career that far. He got so many chances from 1993-1999 to help his career go to another level and he blew it.

As for his son as a parent you are supposed to let your kids be themselves. That's the problem with a lot of parents they always want their kids to be something they're not or get mad when they have their own individuality. Or they work so much that they forget to involve themselves in their kids' lives. Shame on you Damon.

What a shame! He could have been the next Neil deGrass Tyson. Acting is so fleeting as a career move, most actors try to talk their kids out of doing it.
