I'm sorry, I know this is a ridiculous question and I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but I'll ask anyway.

Is there any relation between Emily Watson and Emma Watson?

It's probably just a coincidence, like Michael Keaton and Diane Keaton. (Actually, Michael Keaton was born Michael Douglas, but he couldn't keep that name in movies.)

I was curious of this myself. The website who2.com states there is absolutely no relation between the two. And if I'm sure of anything in the world, it's information I get from the internet.

Not only was Michael Keaton born Michael Douglas, but Diane Keaton was Born Diane Hall!

I think Emily Watson and Emma Watson get confused more than any two actors on Earth, with the possible exception of Durmot Mulroney and Dylan McDurmott. * Emily has an unfortunate history of being misidentified on the web. Just on this site I've seen her confused with Emma Watson, Emily Lloyd, Emily Mortimer, and Emmy Rossum.

*I will not even go into the whole "Sarah Jessica Parker-Mary Louise Parker-Mary Stuart Masterson-Mary Elizabeth Masterentonio" thing.

It's a fair thing to be curious about. For whatever reason, I never thought they were related, but Google seems to think they are. Has anyone else noticed that if you do a Google image search for Emily Watson, about 10% of the pictures are of Emma Watson? Oy!
