Laughed so hard when Police said 'Wagner is not a suspect'

"Robert Wagner is not a suspect". Ha! I laughed so hard when the Police said that. It's as if they are STILL trying to cover up for him because he is a famous actor.

Make him pay. He threw her in the water as he was angry with her. He knew she was scared of the water but wanted to teach her a lesson for flirting with Walken.

The fact he stalled the search shows what a bastard he really is.

I agree, it's a crying shame what he allowed to happen to Natalie.

He's definitely a "suspect". Why else would they open a 30 yo case? The police likely have heaps of evidence but need a couple of other nuggets to make it stick.

I do think Wagner is responsible for her death in some way. He probably either pushed her over. Or, she fell, and he didn't do anything to save her, since he (presumably) wanted her gone anyway. It makes me sick to think that both he and Walken covered it all up after all these years. Maybe Walken believed whatever crap Wagner told him, but I find it really odd that the captain said that Wagner "forbade" him to make any calls in time, etc. And I read that Wagner just was running the show, and wanted to make certain that everyone stuck to whatever HIS story was, when they spoke individually with the police. I do think that Wagner's responsible, and it makes me sick. There seemed to be so little, if any, coverage of it after her death (as friends and family told me...I was studying in Paris at the time). I knew all these years that there was some yelling, etc. on the boat, but I didn't think it would have been so far as to have pointed in the direction of Wagner...but it appears as though he could be the ressponsible and guilty party.

I remember learning of the news of her death. I was in Geneva, Switzerland, having hitchhiked there from Paris with another girl from the dorm with whom I really didn't get along at all. It was late at night, and we sightsaw all day. We were on our beds in the youth hostel, and she had the paper in her hands, and she just said (in her typically cold, blase tone) "oh, poor RJ. Natalie Wood's dead." I was shocked, as it came from out of nowhere that she blurted it out. I remember the photos of Natalie back in Paris....on one cover, that for "Paris Match", they had a picture of her from about 1965, with a solid blue background, her hair long and dark, very wind-blown (artificially, from fans), and she was wearing bright red lipstick and a strapless gown or one-piece swimsuit (something strapless). It just struck me as seeming to be the most "Hollywood" photo of her that they could find that they used to pronounce her death. I felt just awful about her loss...she was only 43.

It's so many years later, but I hope that they can find the truth. If they find Wagner, or Walken somehow, at fault, I hope they finally pay for their involvement and cover-up.

I've always had a hunch that he did. Just a hunch, mind you. He'd definitely be a 'suspect' if he was a regular guy...

reply

Yeah, well, unless some proof comes up that he was involved, why bother speculating?

reply

Well, he's now been named "a person of interest". That's something, at least.
