Do you think a new actor could take on the Ernest character in a reboot of the series? No one can ever be the same as Jim Varney, but it would be nice to see the Ernest franchise return for a new generation.

Jim is Ernest, and Ernest is Jim. I don't think it could work with anyone else.

As long as it was true and respectful to the character and to Jim, I think an animated movie or show preferably in the classic hand-drawn way would be the best way to go.

Like trying to reboot chaplin, not really possible but also like chaplin His influence will be felt in new movies time and time again.
